MixTapeMash.com is a site for creating custom playlists. the system is based on youtube so the bandwidth is only used for the site itself, while the media comes from youtube.

I worked at this restaurant as well – we took a design and upgraded it and moved it from a horrible ‘paid’ cms to wordpress. It was kind of a ‘duh’ thing I coulden’t figure out why the original company had charged so much….. but that is life

IceCreamTapes.com is a more plush style hip hop mixtape site with a more clean style. The site does not allow for user uploads but does have the same features as thatcrack.com . The design, development, and flash player was developed and designed by me.

DjFadesWorld.com is a simple video site that is based on youtube. The custom flash players use youtube videos to index and playback to the user. The site is built on wordpress with a custom theme built for it.

This is the site for my music. Originally, I wanted the domain davidkilmer.com to be for my programming and web development and design business, but had been publishing and doing music for years under my name, so I decided the web based work could go here ( nrgdesigns.com ) and the music could stay on my named domain.

The site has a simple one column set-up with a lot of custom graphics and a bit of css tweaking.

It is need of a upgrade

That crack is a hip hop mixtape site, where users can listen to mixtapes uploaded by other users on fancy flash players, and download the zip packages of the tapes for free. Unlike the major runner for this niche ( datpiff.com ) , thatcrack does not charge anything for the use of the site – so users may download as many tapes as they want. I was in charge of developing the whole site from scratch , and later in 2009 was ported to a wordpress theme so we could more easily control the setup of the site.

I developed the flash player, it sends info to the site so it can keep statistics on the use and demand of individual tracks and tapes.

The site currently generates about $30 a day in ad revenue.

My first portfolio site

This site is nearly finished, but the portfolio option is the main part I need to work on. Ideally, I want the archived list to show thumbnails with a title and then open into a light box with large captions where I can place information about the image being shown – clicking on the image advances to the next one and clicking outside closes it.

I wanted the design of this site to be extremely simple to allow for really quick understanding of what the site is about – so I chose to not have a sidebar and to produce a simple application to show off work in a gallery like setting and have a text based work diary which this entry belongs to.
